Had it up and running IPTV channels in a jiffy. I had a guy bring his Amazon firestick here as he was having trouble at his place. It also utilises both 2.4 and 5 gig frequencies at the same time and this is what I believe makes it so solid I'd have saved myself so much work, testing and many many phone calls and stress that goes with that I can't believe I did not see the various routers as being problematical in themselves. Without doubt, the best decision and purchase I've made this decade. Use this as your main router and forget the one supplied is my adviceĪpple are excellent in talking you through this if you find it difficult and they will schedule a call back and mostly within an hour, even at weekends Most use this bridged to their current router and that is fine but the way to go, as I see it, is to take away your existing router once you have gone through copying the information, the Apple airport does this for you. I found no loss of speed by setting up 3 guest networks for people who stayed over after a party Apparently it's capable of up to running 50 of these. No drop outs, getting speeds a bit higher than advertised and I can also set up completely separate guest networks, so that if I get visitors stay over, I can give them their own dedicated netwo rk and it doesn't give access to ANY of my own files or content. A quick contact call from Apple had me up and running within 15 minutes and my broadband is rock solid. I bought this, at a bargain rate it has to be said, and I did have a few problems setting it up but that's the norm I feel. I even made up a specially long Ethernet cable so that I had a hard line connection, no joy I had tried EVERYTHING in my box of experienced tricks but just could not get the service advertised. I had been having problems with the various super routers that every company now say they have but suffered continual drop outs and especially with sky Q TV and streaming in general.
